I’m used to the TI-84 Plus CE, and this calculator is exactly identical to a TI-84 Plus. That being said, nothing beats leaving your clunky calculator at home as you go to classes. There’s quite a few great apps out there that can be used as a graphing calculator, but getting used to different user interfaces is always a pain when switching between calculators. The TI84 Plus family of graphing calculators is the upgraded version of the TI83 Plus, with possible extra features in the menus demonstrated below. You might as well just buy a few more calculators with a price tag like that. TI83 Plus/84 Plus: I will be using the TI83 Plus graphing calculator for these directions. It is still a phone app, so it’s not a perfect remedy for having a physical graphing calculator in every situation, like tests. Texas Instruments sells a TI-84 Plus CE calculator emulator called TI-SmartView CE, and expects us to use it if we want to emulate a TI-84 on our computers. They did a really good job of incorporating the power of smartphone to augment the traditional TI-84 experience.

As someone who swears by TI-84, it’s incredibly intuitive and has lots of added features to make it more user friendly. I’ve dealt with many apps that have claimed to be this, or have tried to be this, but this is the first that actually feels like I’m using a graphing calculator.

I’m a 3rd year mechanical engineering undergrad, and holy lord crap this is the greatest thing since Betty White.
